The Appeal of the New Downtown – The Global City
When one thinks of Ho Chi Minh City’s Downtown, the iconic Nguyen Hue – Le Loi area, established over a century ago, immediately comes to mind. However, after decades of rapid development and urbanization, Ho Chi Minh City’s downtown has limited capacity for expansion as visitor numbers continue to grow. The scale and planning of the existing downtown cannot match Ho Chi Minh City’s rapid growth, creating a clear demand for a new downtown center.
Much like Singapore today, where Marina Bay has become the most vibrant destination despite Orchard Road’s continued popularity, the city continues to evolve and grow.
Masterise Homes‘s vision for The Global City is to create a comparable “miracle” to Marina Bay. Mirroring the waterfront location along the Rach Chiec River, The Global City will feature an innovative artificial canal system spanning 2 km, christened “Love Bay.” This destination will integrate Southeast Asia’s premier water music complex, surrounded by expansive green spaces.

Given the significant traffic volume, the Ministry of Transport has approved the expansion of the highway section passing through The Global City, which is being developed into an eight-lane corridor by 2025. Additionally, the city is constructing the An Phu intersection with a total investment of 3,926 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2025. This timeline aligns with The Global City’s phased completion and delivery, enabling residents to benefit from the enhanced infrastructure.
The metropolis’s prominence will further increase with major infrastructure investments planned for Thu Duc City, totaling 852,500 billion VND in the coming years. The expansion of Do Xuan Hop, Le Van Viet, La Xuan Oai, and Nguyen Duy Trinh streets will further enhance the project’s accessibility and vitality.
World-class development team with leading international partners
The Global City collaborates with globally renowned partners, including Tung Feng construction engineering, Artelia project management, Quimera energy efficiency consulting, WATG landscape design, and Foster + Partners architectural consulting. Masterise Homes has committed to implementing the highest international standards in design and construction under Foster + Partners’ guidance. The developer noted that The Global City represents a significant investment relative to comparable townhouse projects, with 11% of the total area dedicated to green space, equivalent to 13 hectares.
From a technological perspective, Masterise Homes has developed a proprietary application for The Global City to facilitate security, traffic management, and urban space management through artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things technology. The project is also equipped with comprehensive infrastructure to support electric vehicle adoption, including charging stations in basement levels and charging points integrated into main road light poles.
